High and Low Carb Diet – Burn Baby Burn

After an author by the name of Jay Robb released the book, The Fat Burning Diet, everyone started to research about it. The book focused on how to have unlimited energy to last him a lifetime. The author suffered from reactive hypoglycemia and did this very diet to control his blood sugar level.

Fat burning diets are a great method to increase one's energy. So basically, one will lose weight without having to lift a finger. Unlike when one goes low carb, one can feel really tired when on this diet which is not really good for the health. The best way to diet, however, is to go low carb; then high carb; then low again.

Fat burning diets would require you to eat three meals a day. And yes, there's even more good news: one can have one cheat day when he can eat any thing he likes for an hour only.

The main goal of this diet is to make the body burn fat as its main energy source – and that by alternating low and high carb diet, the body manipulates glycogen metabolism. As a result, the body does not store fats at all.

When you plan to do this diet, you must be ready to select the best foods that are good sources of carbohydrates. But choose good carbohydrates for the bad ones are the main culprit of making you sleepy after the meal.

The best source of good carbohydrates would be brown rice, sweet, white potatoes, pasta, corn and whole wheat bread. Fruits are only good sources.

Here is a simple diet plan for you:

ON A LOW CARB DAY:

Breakfast
Egg white omelet with cheddar cheese and some salsa

Lunch
Large raw vegetable salad with tuna and avocado

Dinner
Stir-fry lean beef with broccoli and peanut sauce

ON A HIGH CARB DAY:

Breakfast
Fruit salad and yogurt
Wholegrain toast with honey

Lunch
Turkey breast with baked sweet potato
Green salad with low fat dressing

Dinner
Chicken breast, whole grain pasta and some zucchinis

Dessert
Fresh fruit will do

The best exercise for this diet would be walking and with weight training – this is to increase muscle strength and also to make one's metabolism faster.

This diet plan is ideal for those who love carbohydrates and are having a hard time giving them up. This diet program can also be adjusted especially when vegans and vegetarians alike would like to try it too.

This can totally change your life – by changing your food choices. This diet may take discipline but then again, the changes you see in your body would make you want to stick to this diet all the more.
